Functions

The 3D Configurator provides several interactive functions for visualizing, inspecting, and documenting packaging models. These functions are available from the toolbar within the 3D view.

Coloring Components

Components can be colored to visually distinguish different parts of the object. Each component type is displayed in a distinct color, making it easy to identify individual boards, panels, or blocks within the 3D model.

The coloring is applied automatically based on the component type assignment.

Showroom View

The Showroom view provides an interior perspective of the object. This is useful for inspecting the inner structure of a box or crate, verifying internal dimensions, and checking how components fit together from the inside.

To activate the showroom view, use the Showroom toggle in the 3D view toolbar.

Markings

Markings indicate specific characteristics or handling instructions on the object, such as the center of gravity, stacking limits, or forklift restrictions. Markings are placed interactively using the Marker Editor.

Screenshot

A screenshot of the current 3D view can be captured directly from the configurator. This creates an image of the model in its current perspective, which can be used for documentation or attached to reports.

Properties Display

The Properties function displays the calculated properties of the current object, including overall dimensions, weight, and surface area values.

Additional Materials

The Additional Materials function lists all required supplementary materials for the object that are not part of the structural components, such as fasteners, adhesives, or protective materials.

Object Summary

The Object Summary generates a comprehensive overview containing all specifications and calculated lines for the current object. This summary includes dimensions, material quantities, and component details.

Tip

Use the Object Summary to review all calculated values before generating production documents from the BOM Calculation Template.
