Variables

Variables are short letter-based labels that store values within BOM Calculation Templates. They enable the use of flexible values instead of fixed numbers, allowing components of an object to adjust automatically when the overall dimensions change.

Types of Variables

Standard Variables

Standard variables reference the dimensions of other components or the overall dimensions of the object. They update automatically when the object's total size changes.

Custom Variables

Custom variables can be created by users to reuse fixed values across multiple calculations or to change multiple values simultaneously by modifying a single variable.

Standard Variable Reference

The following table lists all available standard variables and their meanings.

Object Dimension Variables

Variable Description
LIM Length of the inside dimension of the object.
WIM Width of the inside dimension of the object.
HIM Height of the inside dimension of the object.
LOM Length of the outside dimension of the object.
WOM Width of the outside dimension of the object.
HOM Height of the outside dimension of the object.

Packing Good Variables

Variable Description
LPG Length of the outside dimension of the packing good.
WPG Width of the packing good.
HPG Height of the packing good.
PGW Weight of the packing good.

Line-Specific Variables

These variables reference values from a specific component line in the template.

Variable Description
UNIT Number of pieces for the specified line.
LM Length dimension of the specified line.
WM Width dimension of the specified line.
HM Height dimension of the specified line.
SCP Scrap percentage of the specified line.
MAR Margin of the specified line.
IND Indentation of the specified line.
DAC Deactivation value of the specified line.

3D-Specific Variables

These variables control positioning and spacing of components in the 3D view.

Variable Description
GRP Grouping of the specified line.
INL_START Indentation at the start along the length of the specified line.
INL_END Indentation at the end along the length of the specified line.
INC_START Indentation at the start across the width of the specified line.
INC_END Indentation at the end across the width of the specified line.
SPL Spacing along the length of the specified line.
SPC Spacing across the width of the specified line.
Note

Variables can be customized in the configuration settings of the BOM Calculation Template.

Tip

Use standard variables in calculation formulas (such as Piece Calculation, Length Calculation, Width Calculation, and Height Calculation) to create templates that adapt automatically to different packing good dimensions.
