Warehouse Setup
The packaging solution extends the standard Business Central location card with additional fields for packaging-specific warehouse operations. These fields define default bin codes for packing orders, container orders, and packing materials.
How to Set Up a Warehouse Location for Packaging
- Choose the
icon, enter Locations, and then choose the related link. - Open the location card for the desired location.
- On the Bins FastTab, configure the packaging-specific fields.
Packaging Fields on the Location Card
| Field | Description |

| Default Bin Code | Specifies the default bin code when an item is used. Does not overwrite existing standard bin content. Only available when Bin Mandatory is enabled. |
| Container Order Default Bin Code | Specifies the default bin code applied when validating a location code on a container order. |
| Packing Material Bin Code | Specifies the default bin code for packing materials. Only available when Bin Mandatory is enabled. |
| Packing Order Default Bin Code | Specifies the default bin code for packing order lines. |
| Customer Packaging Location | Marks the location as a customer packaging location. Requires all warehouse handling options to be disabled. |
Note
A default location can be set in the Company Information page.
Tip
When Bin Mandatory is enabled on a location, the packaging-specific bin code fields become available. Disabling Bin Mandatory will clear the Default Bin Code.
