DocBox - Archive

The DocBox provides document archiving capabilities integrated directly into Business Central. Documents can be archived digitally, printed, or both. The setup establishes the connection between the packaging system and the DocBox archive.

Setup

  1. Choose the Search icon, enter doc.box Setup, and then choose the related link.
  2. Under Actions, choose Run, then select Run All Setups. This function creates a default setup for the archive and initializes the required number series.
  3. Open the doc.box Report Setup to review the archived documents.

The default setup is sufficient for standard archiving. All documents found in the system are stored automatically. You can then adjust the archiving type for each document individually:

  • Print - physical printing only
  • Archive - digital archiving only
  • Both - print and archive
  • With Confirmation - prompt before archiving
Tip

For delivery notes and other documents that require a scanned signature, a barcode can be printed on the document for quick assignment during scanning. This function is available under Create Expected Document.

The print dialog can be controlled through the DocBox setup. When activated, a prompt appears before printing that asks whether the document should be printed or sent by e-mail. For e-mail sending, a recipient group can be defined.
