Declarations of Conformity

Based on a PPWR technical documentation, acadon PPWR produces two legally relevant documents:

  • The EU Declaration of Conformity, with which you as the producer declare the conformity of your packaging in accordance with Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR).
  • The Packaging Component Compliance Declaration, which you as the supplier provide to your customer so that they can compile their own technical documentation and EU declaration of conformity.

Set up the signatory details

The EU declaration of conformity contains a signature block. You enter the required details once in the setup:

  1. Choose the Search icon, enter PPWR Setup, and then choose the related link.
  2. Open the Declaration of Conformity FastTab and fill in the fields.
Field Description
Signature Place Specifies the place shown in the "Place, Date" line of the EU declaration of conformity. If the field is empty, the city from the company information is used.
Signatory Name Specifies the name of the person who signs the EU declaration of conformity.
Signatory Function Specifies the function or title of the signing person.

Use the Upload Image action to store a signature image that is printed on the EU declaration of conformity. Use Clear Image to remove it again.

Note

The remaining details of the signature block — company name and address — come from the Company Information. Keep these complete so that the declaration is printed correctly.

  1. Open the required PPWR technical documentation.
  2. Choose the EU Declaration of Conformity action.
  3. The declaration is generated as a print preview.

The EU declaration of conformity lists the unique identification of the packaging, the details of the producer, the object of the declaration, and the confirmation of conformity with Articles 5 to 12 of Regulation (EU) 2025/40. In addition, the harmonised standards used for the assessment are stated.

This declaration is addressed to your customer: it describes a supplied packaging component in such a way that the recipient can take it over into their own technical documentation and EU declaration of conformity.

  1. Open the technical documentation of the component to be supplied.
  2. Choose the Packaging Component Compliance Declaration action.

The declaration contains the details of the supplier, the identification of the component, the material composition, and the assessments regarding substance restriction, recyclability and further PPWR requirements.

Tip

The Packaging Component Compliance Declaration can be printed both from a documentation created from the BOM and from a vendor technical documentation.
