Quotes
Your customers can view, accept, or reject sales quotes directly in the portal. The decision is automatically reported back to Business Central.
Viewing Quotes
The Quotes section lists all provided sales quotes. The full-text search allows searching by quote number. The detail view displays quote details, lines, and the current status (Open, Accepted, Rejected, or Expired). The quote can be downloaded as PDF. The Documents action provides access to all associated documents.
Accepting a Quote
In the detail view of a quote, the customer can confirm the quote via the Accept Quote action. The status changes to Accepted and the decision is transmitted to Business Central.
Note
The action is only available if the quote is still valid (expiration date not exceeded) and the user has the Accept Quotes permission.
Rejecting a Quote
Via the Reject Quote action, the customer can reject a quote and optionally select a predefined rejection reason. The status changes to Rejected and the decision is transmitted to Business Central.
Note
Rejection reasons are displayed in the language of the signed-in user, provided translations have been set up in Business Central.
Sharing Quotes Without Portal Access
If you want to provide a sales quote to a customer who does not have their own portal account, you can share the quote via a direct link.
Note
This function requires the Packaging Portal Accountless Quotes feature to be enabled. In the Packaging Portal Setup, the field Allow Quotes Without Account must be activated.
- Create a sales quote for the desired customer in Business Central.
- Synchronise the quote to the portal via the regular synchronisation.
- Share the link to the quote detail page together with the customer number — for example via email.
- Your customer opens the link and enters the provided customer number. This serves as verification that the recipient is authorised to view the quote.
- The quote is displayed and can be viewed, accepted, or rejected.
Note
For accountless quotes, access is restricted to the specific quote. Other portal sections are not visible.
Measurement Lines
With the Packaging Portal Measurement Lines feature, measurement lines are displayed below each quote line in the quote detail view. Measurement lines show the breakdown of a quote line at individual parcel level.
Note
This function requires the Packaging Portal Measurement Lines feature to be enabled.
The following data is displayed for each measurement line:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Parcel No. | The number of the assigned parcel. |
| Description | Description of the measurement line. |
| Unit | The measurement value (e.g. length, area). |
| Quantity | The quantity per document. |
| Unit of Measure | The unit of measure used (e.g. pcs, m²). |
If the Packaging Portal Item Images in Quotes feature is additionally enabled, associated images are also displayed for the measurement lines.
Item Images
With the Packaging Portal Item Images in Quotes feature, images are displayed for quote lines and measurement lines in the quote detail view. The images originate from the respective item card in Business Central and are automatically transferred during synchronisation.
Note
This function requires the Packaging Portal Item Images in Quotes feature to be enabled. Images must be stored on the relevant item cards in Business Central.
For quote lines and measurement lines that have associated images, a Pictures link appears. Clicking it opens an image gallery where all associated images can be browsed in full size. Via the Download Pictures action, all images of the quote can be downloaded as a ZIP file. The ZIP file is structured into subfolders by quote line and measurement line.
3D View
If you want to show a customer the three-dimensional representation of a configured package, you can use the 3D view directly in the quote detail view — for example as a demonstration for your own customers.
Note
This function requires the Packaging Portal 3D View feature to be enabled. In Business Central, the field 3D View Enabled must be set in the Configurator Layout Setup.
For information on how to set up and use the 3D configurator, refer to the online documentation here.
For quote lines that have 3D data available, a Preview button is displayed. This button opens the interactive 3D view.
