Set up Transport Units
Set up Transport Units to enable extended handling of pallets, boxes, and other units in planning and warehouse processes. The setup is quick and can be enabled per Location.
Enable the transport unit module
- Choose the
, enter acadon module management, and then choose the related link. - On the Acadon Module Management page, find the line for Transport Unit Module.
- If the Enabled field is not checked, click the action Enable to enable the module.
- Click the action Initialize in the presented notification to create the default Transport Unit Types and the number series for the module.
To define a number series for Transport Units
- Choose the
, enter Wood Setup (WMS), and then choose the related link. - On the Wood Setup (WMS) page, on the Numbering FastTab, fill in Transport Unit No. Series.
Important
The number series is required to create new Transport Units. If missing, you will get a notification when enabling the feature on a Location.
To enable extended Transport Units per Location
- Choose the
, enter Location, and then choose the related link. - Select the location where the Extended Transport Unit Handling feature should be enabled. On the Location Card, turn on Extended Transport Unit Handling Enabled.
- If prompted, choose to open Wood Setup (WMS) and define Transport Unit No. Series.
Note
When the feature is disabled, the classic Transport Units fields remain available so you can continue your existing process.
(Optional) To maintain Transport Unit Types
- Choose the
, enter Transport Unit Types, and then choose the related link. - Create or edit types such as Pallet, Box, or Crate.
- If the Transport Unit Module was just enabled, you may be prompted to initialize the module.
