Set Up a Price Unit Conversion

The price unit conversion defines the ratio of the price in relation to the unit. For example, a price unit conversion of 100 means that the price is for 100 units.

To setup price unit conversions

  1. Choose the Search icon, enter Wood Setup, and then choose the related link.
  2. On the Wood Setup page, on the General FastTab, choose the edit button Search in the Price Rounding Precision field.
  3. On the Price Unit Conversion - Price Rounding Precision Page, choose the New action.
  4. Add the price unit conversion and price rounding precision. Hover over a field to read a short description.
  5. Choose the Close Button.

It is possible to set the price unit conversion at different places in the application:

  • Item
  • Item vendor
  • Purchase price In general the price unit conversion will be picked from the most specific place, if available. The order is: Purchase price > item vendor > item.

To setup a price unit conversion for an item

  1. Choose the Search icon, enter Items, and then choose the related link.
  2. Select the relevant item, and then choose the Edit action.
  3. On the Item Card page, on the Prices & Sales FastTab, enter a price unit conversion in the Price Unit Conversion field or choose the edit button Search to open the list of existing price unit conversions.
Important

It is only possible to change the price unit conversion for items that do not have any item ledger entries and are not used in any documents.

To setup a price unit conversion for an item vendor

  1. Choose the Search, enter Vendors, and then choose the related link.
  2. Select the relevant vendor, and then choose the Edit action.
  3. On the Vendor Card page, choose the Items action to open the Vendor Item Catalog page .
  4. Select the relevant item, and then enter a value in the Price Unit Conversion field.

To setup a price unit conversion for a purchase price

  1. Choose the Search, enter Purchase Price Lists, and then choose the related link.
  2. Select the relevant purchase price list, and then choose the Edit action.
  3. Choose the relevant purchase price and then add a value in the Price Unit Conversion field.
Note

The Price Unit Conversion field is not visible by default in the purchase price list. Depending on your permissions, you might have to use the personalize feature or ask your administrator to enable it.

It is also possible to change the price unit conversion in the document itself per purchase line. If the price unit conversion is changed on the document line the Direct Unit Cost field is recalculated.
