Pre-/Aftertext Blocks

The pre-/aftertexts let you add dynamic text blocks to reports.
Pre-/aftertext blocks only support plain text and are usually used to display additional comments or regular texts that are shown every time, e.g. in the shipping cost information.
Regular pre-/aftertexts can either be replaced by or used at the same time with our WYSIWYG Text Blocks if licensed/enabled.

Note

Pre-/aftertext blocks are available for every timber 2.0 sales and purchase document as well as transfer orders.

To add a pre-/aftertext to a document (example sales order)

  1. Choose the Search icon, enter Sales Orders, and then choose the related link.
  2. Select the sales order, and then choose the Edit action.
  3. On the Sales Order page, choose the Pre-/Aftertext action.
  4. Choose the report you want to set up texts for. Options are invoice, shipment and order confirmation.
  5. Either fill out the text manually (leaving the text module code field empty) or select a text module code to use an existing standard text code. Each row will be printed as a single line in the report, so a multi-line text is possible.
  6. Choose the type you need in the Printout field. Options are: Standard, Bold or Italic.

Once you post your document, the text blocks are taken over to the follow-up documents (e.g. Invoice or Shipment).

To add a default pre-/aftertext for specific document types

Default pre-/aftertexts can be set up and are then, automatically added to new documents.

  1. Choose the Search icon, enter Wood Setup, and then choose the related link.
  2. On the Wood Setup page, on the Default Text Bricks FastTab, choose the lookup button in the e.g. Begin Text Sales Invoice field and select a standard text code or use the New action to create a new one.

Pre-/aftertext blocks only work in timber reports (2.0). If you use custom reports or an older version of timber reports, they may not be supported yet.
