Managing User Permissions
To grant users access to Timber functionality in Business Central you must assign permissions to these users.
Timber comes with pre-defined permission sets aligned to the tasks a user role needs to perform. Each predefined permission set grants reading access to all tables added through Timber.
Permission set overview
Timber Sales
The Timber Sales permission set empowers users to execute all operational tasks in the sales domain. In addition to sales, it extends access to related areas such as transfers, purchases, logistics, and disposition planning — reflecting the diverse responsibilities of a salesperson.
Timber Purchase
The Timber Purchase permission set allows to perform all operative tasks in the area of purchase. Additionally it allows users to modify item setup data.
Timber Manufacturing
The Timber Manufacturing permission set enables users to perform operational tasks within the manufacturing domain. Users with this set can modify setup data associated with manufacturing and create related documents in other areas like purchase and transfer.
Timber Admin
The Timber Admin permission set comes with full access to all tables within Timber.
Timber Team Member
The Timber Team Member permission set includes the necessary tables to support tasks performed by users with a Team Member license.
Managing Permissions: Inclusion and Exclusion
For scenarios where predefined permission sets fall short, users have the flexibility to include or exclude specific tables or entire permission sets in their custom-defined permission sets. For detailed instructions, refer to To add other permission sets.
