Parcel Selection

The timber parcel selection makes it easy to get an overview of existing parcels in your system. It shows the available quantities and is a tool from where you can quickly create new sales documents or change the location code of a parcel.

Check inventory and availability of parcels

  1. Choose the Search icon, enter Parcel Selection, and then choose the related link.
  2. On the Filter FastTab, a various number of filters can be set to find the parcels needed.
  3. Add filters to find the right parcels and choose the Calculate action.
  4. On the Total Length Diviation FastTab, parcels which fit the filters are shown.
Note

Select the Show Only Available check box, to only show parcels with an available quantity.

Use parcel selection in sales documents

  1. In a sales document such as a sales order, open the mass lines of an item which is managed with parcels.
  2. On the Sales Line - Masslines page, add a new line and enter a number of pieces.
  3. In the Parcel No. field, choose the edit button Search.
  4. On the Parcel Selection page, on the Total Length Diviation FastTab, choose one or more parcels by selecting the Select Quantity check box.

Use additional filters to narrow down the results.

  1. Select the Close button to take over the selected values to the sales mass lines and close the page.

Change location of parcel

The location of one or more parcels can be quickly changed via the parcel selection.

  1. Choose the Search icon, enter Parcel Selection, and then choose the related link.
  2. Add filters to find the right parcels and choose the Calculate action.
  3. On the Total Length Diviation FastTab, choose the Select Quantity check box for the parcel you want to change the location code.
  4. Select the Change Location Code action.
  5. On the Create Document page, enter the new location code and, if needed, also a new bin code.
  6. Choose the OK button to change the location code and close the page.
Note

To be able to change the location code on the parcel selection, on the Wood Setup page, the Change Location Nos. field must be filled.

Create sales documents

From the parcel selection you can create new sales documents for the selected parcels with ease.

  1. Choose the Search icon, enter Parcel Selection, and then choose the related link.
  2. Add filters to find the right parcels and choose the Calculate action.
  3. On the Total Length Diviation FastTab, choose the Select Quantity check box for the parcel you want to change the location code.
  4. Select the Create Sales Document action.
  5. On the Create Document page, on the Sales FastTab, in the Document Type field, choose the drop-down arrow and select a document type. The Options are: Quote, order, invoice.
  6. Choose a customer and a location.
  7. Select the OK* button to create the document and close the page.

Change parcel dimensions

From the parcel selection you can change the dimensions of one or more parcels. To quickly modify the inventory of a parcel.

  1. Choose the Search icon, enter Change Parcel Dimension, and then choose the related link.
  2. On the Change Parcel Dimension page, only the selected lines are shown.
  3. Select the lines that need to be changed and modify one of the editable fields, not all fields are editable. If the dimensions are fixed the field is not editable.

The dimensions that are changed appear in red to notify the user that the dimensions are changed.

  1. Select the action Apply Changes to apply the changes to the selected parcels.
  2. If the changes are applied the page is automatically closed. The changes are performed to the parcels.

Using the "View Type" Filter

When working with parcel selection, the "View Type" filter becomes a valuable tool to customize how you perceive the overview of existing parcels in your system. This filter allows you to choose the type of data that populates the parcel overview. There are four distinct options available for selection:

  • Inventory is based on the Item Ledger Entries. This option displays the current existing parcels in your system.
  • Purchase reveals planned receipts associated with the location codes of your purchase orders.
  • Transfer specifically highlights planned receipts on the new location code of transfer orders
  • All consolidates data from all the aforementioned sources into a unified dataset. To facilitate differentiation between data sources within your parcel overview, consider adding the hidden (by default) field Type to the parcel selection lines. This field offers three possible values: Inventory, Purchase, and Transfer. Utilizing this field enhances your understanding of the data retrieval sources.

In summary, the "View Type" filter empowers you to tailor your parcel overview, providing flexibility and clarity in managing and understanding your parcel data.
