Nonstock Item Selection by Source

The new Nonstock Item Selection by Source feature is designed to enhance the ease of selecting catalog items. Each nonstock item can have one of four possible sources: vendor, manufacturer, item category, or sundy item. This optimization streamlines the item selection process by initially prompting the user to choose from these nonstock item sources. Subsequently, based on this initial filter, the user can then select the desired nonstock items. This optimization is crucial, as it eliminates the need for users to sift through long lists of all available items.

Functionality

  1. Once enabled, the previous actions (Create Nonstock Items as Variant, Nonstock Item (Attribute Search)) within the sales lines will be phased out. Instead, the functionality will be seamlessly integrated into the existing standard action, Select Catalog Items. In the background, this functionality exclusively operates for lines of type Item. When the user is positioned on the line where they wish to add a Catalog Item, the next step is to invoke the standard Select Catalog Items action.
  2. Initially, users will be presented with the new Nonstock Item Sources page. By default, this page displays sources related to the vendors. However, if a different source is preferred, users can access the available actions to switch to another source type.
  3. Once a source is selected, the subsequent prompt (Catalog Items page) will exclusively display nonstock items associated with the chosen source.
  4. Making a selection on the Catalog Items page will automatically populate the sales line with the corresponding item.
