Set up Item Attributes as Dimensions

While Item Attributes help you with defining characteristics to an item to make it easier to manage and find them, the Item Attribute Dimension feature helps to easily analyze items by creating Item Attributes as Item Dimensions.

Note

This feature is only available for the Item Attributes of Type Option.

Set up an Item Attribute as a Dimension

  1. Choose the Search icon, enter Item Attributes, and then choose the related link.

  2. In the top menu, click on Edit List.

  3. For the Item Attributes (with the Type Option) for which you would like to create Dimensions, enable the checkbox in the Attribute as Dimension column.

Now, whenever you add one of these Item Attributes to a specific Item, the new Dimension and Dimension values will automatically be created in the database. At the same time, the Dimension will be added to the Item, with the Value Code corresponding to the selected Option for the respective Item Attribute. Changing or removing an Item Attribute of Type Option that is marked as a Dimension will automatically update the corresponding Item Dimension.
