Set up Certification Management
Certification Management enables you to comply with the auditing requirements of major timber certificate organizations like FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) or PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification). It is possible to define Certificates per Item and check Certificates during posting. With that you keep track of the volume of certified timber. The Certificate Description and Logo will be printed on documents for the customer.
To start working with Certificates, set up Certification Management as follows.
1. Set up Certification Organisations
Choose the
icon, enter Certification Organisation, and then choose the related link.Click on New to create a new Certification Organisation.
Enter a recognizable Code and Name
Enter a Shortcut value which will be printed on the Certificate Statement Report.
Enter a Statement Footer Text which will be printed on customer documents.
Add a logo by clicking on + under Logo.
Note
Click on Statement Footer Translations in the top menu to set up Statement Footer Text translations for each language.
2. Set up Certificates
Choose the
icon, enter Certificates (Wood) List, and then choose the related link.Select the New action to create a new certificate.
Enter the code for the new certificate in the Code field.
Fill in the other fields as necessary.
Note
To set up whether combinations of certificates are allowed, click on Related > Certificate > Certificate Combinations in the top menu to open the Certificate Combinations matrix page. Click on the blue line in a field to set the combination of the respective row and column as Allowed or Blocked.
3. Set up Certificate Groups
Choose the
icon, enter Certificate Groups, and then choose the related link.Click on New in the top menu to create a new Certificate Group.
Enter a Code, Description and Procedure type.
Note
The Superior Selling checkbox can be enabled if you choose the option Credit system in the Procedure field. A value can be added in the Rolling Average Period field if you choose the option Percentage system in the Procedure field.
4. Set up Certificate Assignment
Choose the
icon, enter Certificate Groups, and then choose the related link.Select a Certificate Group and click on Certificate Assignment in the top menu.
In the Certificate Assignment window that opens, click on New in the top menu.
Select the Certificate Code by using the drop-down list in the Code field. The Description gets filled automatically.
5. Set up a Certificate per Item
Choose the
icon, enter Items, and then choose the related link.Open a Item by clicking on the blue-underlined number.
On the Item Card, on the Wood FastTab, select an existing Certificate Group Code in the Certificate Group Code field.
Select an existing Certificate in the Certificate Code field.
Optionally, enable the KOMO, GIP and/or ISPM15 Certified toggles.
In the Cert. Product Class field, choose the edit button
and select the Cert. Product Class.Additionally, select a Strength Grade.
PEFC API Integration
For automatic validation of PEFC certificates against the official PEFC database, you can enable the PEFC API Integration feature. This allows the system to automatically check and update certificate expiry dates for customers and vendors with PEFC certification.
