Quote Type

A large number of created sales quotes are not followed up (e.g. price information for standard items). The quote type can be used to categorize the quotes, so that you can take care of the important ones.

With quote types you can better classify sales quotes, calculate the resubmission and define an automatic archiving date.

To setup quote types

  1. Choose the Search icon, enter Quote Types, and choose the related link.
  2. On the Quote Types page, choose the new action to create a new quote type.
  3. Fill in the Code and Description fields.
  4. In the Resubmission Date Formula field, enter the time period to pass for the resubmission of a sales quote.
  5. In the Automatic Archiv. Date Formula field, enter the time period to pass for the sales quote to be archived and deleted automatically.
  6. In the Quote Due Date Formula field, enter a time period to define the sales quote validity.
Tip

With a Resubmission Date Formula smaller than the Automatic Archiv. Date Formula a quote type can be defined which causes no follow ups.
With a Resubmission Date Formula greater than the Automatic Archiv. Date Formula sales agents can plan to follow up and contact the customer.

To setup default quote types

  1. Choose the Search icon, enter Wood Setup, and choose the related link.

  2. On the Wood Setup page, on the General FastTab you find the fields:

    • PriceInfo Quote Type This quote type will be used as default when you create a Sales Quote from the Priceinfo Sales page.

    • Default Quote Type This quote type will be used in all other cases when you create a Sales Quote.
