Configurator Layout
A Configurator Layout controls which tabs and sections are visible when a user works with the Product Configurator. Each BOM Calculation Template can reference a layout to tailor the configurator experience to the specific product type.
How to Set Up a Configurator Layout
- Choose the
icon, enter Configurator Layout List, and then choose the related link. - Choose the
icon to create a new layout. - Enter a Layout Code and a Description.
- Set the Configurator Mode to define the dimensional mode (1-Dimensional, 2-Dimensional, or 3-Dimensional).
- Enable or disable the Show fields to control which tabs are visible in the configurator.
Fields and Options

| Layout Code | A unique code that identifies the Configurator Layout. |
| Description | A short description for the layout. |
| Configurator Mode | Defines whether the configuration is 1-Dimensional, 2-Dimensional, or 3-Dimensional. This determines which dimension fields are visible on the Basic tab. |
| Show Basic | Displays the Basic tab where the user enters product dimensions. This tab is always enabled and cannot be turned off. |
| Show Properties | Displays the Properties tab where the user selects or enters property values. |
| Show Cover | Displays the Cover tab for specifying a cover design. |
| Show Drawings | Displays the Drawings tab where the user can attach drawing files. |
| Show Production Text | Displays the Production Text tab for entering free-text manufacturing instructions. |
| Show Additional Material | Displays the Additional Material tab for reviewing and adjusting additional packing materials. |
| Show Additional Routings | Displays the Additional Routings tab for reviewing additional routing steps. |
| Show Routing | Displays the Routing tab showing the calculated routing lines with work centers and operation times. |
| Show Summary | Displays the Summary tab with a complete overview of all calculated BOM lines. |
| Summary Editable | When enabled, allows the user to edit values on the Summary tab. Only available when Show Summary is enabled. |
| Show Multilevel BOM | Controls whether the multilevel BOM structure is displayed in the configurator. Only available when Show Summary is enabled. Options include Hide and Session Calculation. |
| Default Custom Values Type | Sets the default behavior for custom values on the Summary tab. Only available when Show Summary is enabled. |
How Layouts Affect the Configurator
The layout determines the user experience during configuration:
- 1-Dimensional mode: Only the Length field is visible on the Basic tab. The Summary tab shows a simple line-based view.
- 2-Dimensional mode: The Length and Width fields are visible. The Summary tab shows a 2-Dimensional specification view.
- 3-Dimensional mode: All three dimension fields (Length, Width, Height) are visible. The Summary tab shows a 3-Dimensional specification view.
Tip
Assign the layout on the BOM Calculation Template Card under the Layout Code field. Each template can use a different layout to match its product type.
