Narra Release

Thank you for exploring our Narra Release. In the following sections, we aim to provide you with an overview of the exciting new features enabled by this update.

The Release is available from August 2026.

Technical Details

The Narra Release is based on Microsoft Business Central Version 28. As a result, there are adjustments to the system requirements. Please refer to the complete list of system requirements for BC28.

Business Central 28

The Narra Version is based on Microsoft Business Central (BC) Version 28. This version introduces numerous new features for you to check out. You can find the full list here.

Important

New Apps like Quality Management and Subcontracting are currently not supported. We are working on a solution to support these apps in the future. There are Timber Modules for both apps available.

Permission Changes

Throughout the Release Wave, we have added some objects. Custom permission sets need to be updated to include these objects. The following table objects have been added in this release:

Dependency Changes

The following App is now needed for Narra:

  • "Dynamics BC Excel Reports" by Microsoft

New App

The following App was added to support generating ZUGFeRD compliant invoices in Germany:

  • E-Documents for Germany Timber Connector

New Features

The following Features are now available. They can be activated in the Feature Management Page:

Automatic Activation

Upcoming features are automatically activated when

  • Installing Timber
  • Creating a new company
Note

In both cases it is limited to features that can be deactivated.

Note

When a new company is created, only Features that are already active in other companies will be enabled.

Update Checklist

This is a major update and may contain breaking changes. Some of these changes require manual actions. Please carefully review this checklist for each environment before proceeding with the update.

Important

If you upgrade from earlier Versions, please read the update checklist/breaking changes of all versions that you skip as well. In this list you will only find the changes that are relevant if you update from Mahogany to Narra.

Required Actions

  • Please make sure to check the permission sets if custom permission sets are used.
  • Make sure that custom apps work with the new automatically activated features.

Recommended Actions

  • Use Upcoming Features and provide Feedback. To do so, open the acadon Upcoming Features page and use the Enable action.
