Packaging - Basic Setup

When you install the acadon_packaging app for the first time, you need to set up a few things. The supporting setup Packaging Basic Setup will guide you through some basic settings.

You can choose from several setups the ones that should be executed:

  • Initialize packaging device
  • Initialize Base Mass Unit
  • Initialize general properties

Below you will find more information about the setups. All generated values are inserted into the packaging setup.

Initialize Packaging Setup

The following Number Series are created:

  • PMAO - package dissolution numbers
  • PG - Package numbers
  • PREC - Packaging goods receipt

In addition, the Parcel Movement Journal Templates and the Parcel Movement Journal Templates Name are created.

Furthermore, the captions for the user-defined fields 1 to 8 for the packaged goods are initialized.

Initialize Base Unit of Measure

If you activate this button, the Base unit, the Unit of measure calculation and the Unit of measure will be filled.

The Basic Units of Measure meter (m) and millimeter (mm) are created. The Unit of Measure Calculation contains the width (mm), the thickness (mm) and the length (mm). The setup will include a mass calibration Surf. Ful and a Surf. Env.. To complete this, two additional square Unit of Measures are created. One of them is Surf. Ful and the other Surf. Envelope.

In the setup the Meter unit of measure is set to the UoM code of a unit of measure with a UnitType = base unit meter. And the default package. Good UoMis set to the UoMPG unit (Unit x L[mm] x W[mm] x H[mm])`.

Initialize General Properties

This button adds a list of properties and various Property Categories.

Packaging Setup - Default posting date

  • In the packaging setup the default posting date can now be set for:
    • Packaging Receipt
    • Packaging Shipment
    • Packing Order
    • Packaging Transfer Order

Packaging Setup - Inventory Movement

This can be activated to hold back inventory when creating a Posted Packaging Shipment.

Packaging Setup - Packging

The dimensions are checked again when accepting the Colli Planung or posting the Packing Order. All differences within the contents are displayed during this check and all changes can be applied directly.

With the Error option, the differences must be applied, otherwise the transaction is cancelled. With Notify, the differences are displayed but do not necessarily have to be applied in order to allow the Posting or Accepting.
